We welcome clear, original pitches that help a general reader understand cricket. Select Cricket Guide is especially interested in focused explanations, useful comparisons and well-framed background pieces that do not depend on unsupported claims or personal credentials.

What to pitch

Propose one defined subject, such as a scoring convention, a tactical choice, a format comparison or an aspect of equipment design. A strong pitch explains the reader’s question, the central point the article will make and why the subject can be handled accurately without relying on unverified match claims. We welcome different angles, not a list of keywords.

What makes a good piece

Keep the scope tight, explain specialist terms and distinguish established rules from common practice or opinion. Make comparisons fair: say what changes between the options and what does not. Do not submit copied material, invented quotations, unsupported statistics or an article that presents a personal preference as a rule.

Send a proposal

Send your pitch through the Contact page and choose the editorial question option. Include a proposed title, a short outline, the intended reader and any sources or factual claims that need checking. A proposal is not a promise of publication, and we may ask for a narrower angle.
